The navy colour and the ABS letters carry 50 years of recognition, so both stay. The problems are technical: effects that blur at small sizes, and no system around the logo.
All three keep the ABS letters and the navy. They differ in how far they move from the serif original. Each is shown on light and navy, then at real icon sizes, because that is where the current logo fails.
The closest to today. The serif letters stay, redrawn flat in navy with the bevel removed. POLYMER moves to a wide modern face, and a short amber rule adds the only new colour.
ABS drawn as one continuous monoline, like an extruded strand. The crossbar of the A becomes a single amber pellet, the product the company sells. That pellet-in-A is a distinctive icon that holds up at 16 px.
A hexagon, the chemistry ring, holds the letters as a seal, with the full name set beside it. It feels like an industrial stamp and suits packaging, but the hexagon is common across chemical companies.
Navy stays the primary colour. Amber comes from the pellets themselves and is used sparingly: the logo pellet, buttons on navy, and highlights. Greys lean slightly blue so they sit with the navy instead of looking flat.
